We had such a good Christmas! The kids loved seeing family everyday for 5 days! :-) Bella was on cloud nine when Santa brought her a pink trycicle. She has been ridding it everyday since she got it. 

  

Ewan had a blast with his "Big Digger". He now has a tractor just like his Papa Tom. 

On Christmas Eve Uncle Brent was a hit when he brought the kids snow in the back of his truck. He has a tradition of going snow boarding with my Uncle on Christmas eve and this year they thought the kids would have fun with the snow. They did! :-) And let me just say that if you are ever a little irritated with your husband snow balls are a good thing! I just need to work on my aim!

I know it has been a super long time since my last post. Like most people we have been on the go. :-) I do have a couple of pictures I thought I would share before we head off to an awesome dinner at Paul Martins with my whole (adult) family. 

* Smelly markers are NOT a good idea for a 3 year old. 

* This is a follow up to the sleeping angles post. The other night I went in to do my usual parent stalking and found the girls like this. They are both sound asleep. It was dark my flash almost woke them up. :-)

Cookie time!!

After school today The girls got to decorate some sugar cookies that we had made. They had a blast. I know my cookies look pretty amazing. :) Gretchen if you ever need any tips....:) 

I told the girls to say cheese and check out what the ham in the back did. You can see him cracking a smile under his paci. :) 

Sleeping Angles

So ever since Mady was a baby I have had this obsession of spying on my kids when they sleep. I creep into their room on my way to bed and just sit and stare. I rub their cheeks, give them kisses and recover them. Sometimes it takes me awhile to drag myself out of the bedrooms and go to bed.  I can't get over how sweet and peaceful they all are when they sleep. I think it is the only time of day when they are quite. I really enjoy this time of my day and just thought I would share.  

Thankful

So much to be thankful for..............

My amazing husband, my three beautiful kids, family, old friends, new friends, a house with more than one bathroom!, memories, .........

the list can go on but I am in San Diego and there are 7 kids  running around so I can't think :) I am thankful for all the happy noise they bring! :)

I was tagged by my friend Gretchen. :) I had to upload my 4th picture in my 4th photo folder. This picture is from June 2007. In it is my mom, Jourdan, me, my Aunt Cindy, cousin's Danae, Jacob, and Jenner. And the girls. I was preggo with Ewan.  We are at Disneyland. Jacob and Jenner are my cousins but Mady does not understand and thinks he is only her cousin. :) I am tagging Janae and Carly. :) 

random thoughts

* How the heck do you teach a 6 year old to tie her shoes? I tried explaining it to her and she got fed up and said "I will never learn! I will never tie my shoes even when I'm OLD like you!"  Then runs away screaming. UGH!!

* The attitude from a 6 year old (maybe it is just mine) sucks! Yesterday she told me she would "never give me kisses and hugs again!" because she lost desert for the next 2 days. That comment made her loose out on another 2 days. 

* I am becoming my mother. A couple of years ago that would have bugged me but now not having her around it is like one more memory bonus. 

* Since I have had Ewan I am late to EVERYTHING!! It is all his fault I have decided. :)

* Top Chef starts again tonight!!

* I am ready to decorate for Christmas! If the stores are why can't I?

* I am sooo excited for Christmas because I love all of it but in the same breath very sad about Christmas because this was also my moms favorite holiday. It is also my first Christmas without her which makes me very sad.  

* Jourd just sent me the prettiest tulips......He is on the every 11 year plan. :) 11 Years ago next month he bought me tulips. So I should get my next ones in the year 2019!! 

Date Night

Saturday night Jourdan and I went out for a much deserved night out. We went to Paul Martins with friends and had an awesome time. We so needed a night out. With work, school, music videos, Haunted houses,  and kids we have been two ships passing. It was nice seeing each other! Mady had fun taking pictures of us before we left. : )

Halloween

I LOVE this time of year!

Jourdan brought this yummy stuff home for me the other day! He doesn't even drink coffee he just knew I would love it! 

One Year ago today!

7:30 am I woke up with my first contraction. Jourd headed off to work and I told him to wait for my call. This being my third labour I know it would be fast (also Bella's birth was 2 hours start to finish). I did some quick cleaning up and got Madysenn ready for school. By this time (8:15ish) my contractions were about 4 minutes apart. I was talking to my friend and had to stop to breath and she said "Kirsten that was only 3 minutes you need to go". So I called Jourd, he of course answered on speaker so the whole office heard me scream "get home NOW it is time to go".  

We then headed down to the old Kaiser hospital on Watt. When I walked in I was in the middle of a pretty major contraction and the best Mid wife in the world stopped and said I bet your about 5 to 6 cenimeters. Sure enough I was. I got myself checked in and got into my room. After a few minutes my parents got there then my doula and then my friend Janae came. It was a very full room. :) After only an hour and a half  it was time to push. After about 10 minutes of pushing he was out. The mid wife took him and put him on my chest and let him lay there for about 20 minutes. (I had never got to do that before because Bella was so early and Mady we saved her cord blood so they took her right away) But it was the coolest thing to have him snuggle down into my chest. 

Ewan James McClure was born at 12:15 weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces. Now one year later he is 24 pounds. He is just starting to walk. And is saying mama, dada, oh wow, and nighnigh. (night night) He is such a fun kid. He is Happy almost all the time. And has so much fun laying with his big sisters.

We are home!!

We had a great time in Disneyland!

Jourd really didn't think Ewan needed a hair cut. I was sick of having to do his hair after every nap so I made the $10 investment in hair clippers and cut it myself. I think he looks so cute! 

Girl Scouts

Mady has been a Girl Scout for a little over a year now. She just bridged into Brownies. I just thought I would share a pic of her the other day getting ready for a meeting.

To cut or not to cut???

Mady has been asking to get her hair cut for a couple of weeks now. :( I love her hair. She has always had the most beautiful hair. Very thick and straight. The pics don't really do it justice. If I could trade and have her hair I would in a hot second. So I have been living through her hair for the past couple of years. :) After my mom died she said she wanted to grow it out to give it away to kids who have cancer, it is long enough now that we could cut it and donate it but I don't know if I am ready to part with her hair! So should I get over it and let her cut her hair or do I stay the crazy over possessive mom that I have been over HAIR???  

What have we been up to?

Not much! I painted the girls room last week with the help of my mother in law. It is a really cute purple. It is now the only room in our house with color! I love it. I LOVE color and Jourd doesn't. I think he just doesn't like the idea of having to paint. :) I took pics of the room but they didn't turn out. It just looked blue. I am now motivated to paint some more rooms. I think I am going to do the kids bathroom and then Ewan's room. It might take me 6 months but I will do it!! I might need to rope in the help of friends. :) 

We are starting to get ready for our Disneyland trip!! We leave October 18th and come home the 22nd. Two days before Ewan's birthday. This will be our first trip to Disney without my mom. So that stinks, but I am looking forward to all of the good memories of us there with her. 

Jourd took the girls to the park the other day and had fun taking pics of them. They both think they are models. :) 

I miss my sleep!

For the past 6 years I have had very few nights of solid sleep! Someone has either been teething, thirsty, hungry, scared, vomiting, had a bad dream, an accident, had to pee, crazy neighbor doing yard work at 1:30 am. When  I do get the chance to dream, I dream of sleeping through the night. Anyone else dream of sleep? :)

Backyard fun

Yes he was eating purple chalk. I thought he would take a lick/bite and spit it out but he went to town chomping on the chalk. He was pissed when I took it away. 

What happened??

I have had a broken computer for a week and then we had the joys of the stomach flu!  Only Mady and Ewan got the stomach flu but it was still pretty awful. I am ready for things to get make to "normal". (to bad for us normal is pretty weird :) I promise I will start posting again! 

Now a Fat lip???

So now Ewan has a fat lip. This happened about 10 minutes ago. Bella threw a toy and Ewan's face caught it! He cried for about 30 seconds then was happy. I think he was more mad about having his picture taken then getting hit in the face. Maybe it really is different with boys???

I WON!! I WON!!

Yes I won yesterday! I won the worst mom of the year award! I broke my sons pinkie toe! Not on purpose of course but I still feel like crap! To make him feel better I ran into the kitchen to get the phone and smacked his head into the corner of the kitchen cabinet! It has been such a great week! : ) He did get his hair cut yesterday and he looks like such a man! My computer is broken and I am using Jourdan's, as soon as I have mine back I will put up a pic of his new hair!  

From Grocery shopping to the ER

Bella, Ewan's, and My grocery trip did NOT go as planned! Ewan decided to do a header out of the cart onto the hard grocery store ground. After a short ambulance ride (5.4 miles, they clock it for insurance!) he got the thumbs up that it was just a concussion and everything would be okay. It was VERY scary. But he is doing fine now! Thank God! Jourd thought I was morbid for taking a picture but he just looked so sad and I had my phone with me. : )
