Long Lost Blog!!

Sorry for the serious lack of blogging. I blame it on being a single mom for 5 weeks, the holidays, and pure exhaustion! Other then totally flaking on some blog updates I feel like the 5 weeks Jourdan was gone went really well. Sure I had a couple moments of wanting to bang my head into a wall but I refrained from doing so. (barley) But for the most part all was good. The kids and I had a good time with each other. If it is at all possible I feel like we even got a little closer. I did learn some things about myself while he was gone. I learned that I can do it. It is funny when your spouse is gone you just grin and bear it, get the job done, because nobody else is legally obligated to come over and do the dishes, laundry, cleaning, butt whipping, gift buying, gift wrapping, car pool driver, .............. I also learned that I only shave my legs during the winter for my husband. :) (TMI??) But once we had him back it was great. The kids and I enjoyed having him home for Christmas very very much!

So some holiday pictures. I will start with the day before Christmas eve. My brother and Uncle have started a tradition of going snow boarding that day and they bring home a ton of snow in the back of my bothers truck. All the kids love it! My cousins are the same age as my girls and the 4 of them had a blast! I am hoping Brent and Joe keep up with the tradition even though I got my brother pretty good in the ear with a snow ball and he said he wouldn't. ;) It was totally worth it!

Ewan was pretty confused by the whole thing. After about 10 minutes we had to bring him in because his fingers were frozen!

Wordless Wednesday

I know this is a very blurry picture but you get the idea. :) We have known each other since we were babies. This one is from January 1998 I was 14 almost 15 (i know shocking) and Jourdan was 16. We were, WERE dorks! Now we are super cool adults. :)

Around the House: October

Reading: East of Eden by John Steinbeck

Enjoying: Mommy time with the kids.

Learning: Just how different boys are from girls. I know I have said it many times but the things this boy pulls on me the girls never would have dreamed of doing.

Watching: Well tonight it will be last nights episode of Mad Men. I am loving that show.

Anticipating: Hmmmm. Ok this sounds nuts, Christmas. I love the time of year. It will definitely be a different Christmas for us this year with Jourdan out of town for the month but I will still enjoy it with the kids. Maybe we can even watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation together over ichat???

Realizing: How blessed I am to have such a great husband. Even though I give him a rough time for spending so much time away working right now, I know he is trying his hardest for our family.

Pondering: Hmmmm........

Studying: Ruth and Esther and really enjoying it.

Wondering: How bed time will go tonight. If the kids will freak out or go to bed easily.

Remembering: Not much..... my brain is kind of frazzled at this time of day. :)

Praying: That our family stays healthy and that everything works out well for Jourdan's movie. :)

Field Trip

Last week Bella and I headed to Bishops pumpkin Farm. I had never been before..... WOW! It is huge! It was fun getting to do something with just Bella. Her favorite part was the pig races mine was the apple pie. She did not want to share with me. :)
Bella with possibly the sweetest boy ever, Trey. :)
After this picture was taken the lady commented on how much Bella looks like me.

4

4 Movies I wonder if I will ever be able to watch again............

* Steel Magnolias
* Term of Endearment
* StepMom
* The Family Stone

I really love all these movies but for obvious reasons can only make it about half way through each one. I have seen them all many times and know how they all end but the emotions that come out when I watch are to much, so for now I will have to skip on these. :)

Creature of Habit

So I am a creature of habit, big time. When I find something I like I tend to buy it in every color or multiple of the same thing. My pantry is full of the same food all the time because I have this fear that I will not find something when I need it or the store will stop making it. Because god forbid I try something different. :-) So last summer Target (the best store ever) had these tank tops that fit me so perfect that I bought one in almost every color. I also bought about 5 white ones because I wear one under everything.  And I wanted to make sure if they stopped making them I would have plenty. :-) So last week I was at my favorite store and low and behold they had the same tanks as last year! Score!!! So i loaded up again. Mostly on white. Now today I start looking through my clothes and out of the 10 or so white tanks I have bought in the past year I can find 2............. This is why I buy multiple of things.  :-)

Date Night

Saturday night Jourdan and I went out for a much deserved night out. We went to Paul Martins with friends and had an awesome time. We so needed a night out. With work, school, music videos, Haunted houses,  and kids we have been two ships passing. It was nice seeing each other! Mady had fun taking pictures of us before we left. : )
